And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Matthew 16:18
The church is not the building in which we meet. Gallup Hill Baptist Church is the people, the congregation, who voluntarily associate with one another to worship, to grow as followers of Jesus, to help others decide to follow Jesus and to serve one another and our community. Jesus founded the church (Matthew 16:18) and loved it so much that he gave himself for it (Acts 20:28, Ephesians 5:25).
Church members make a pledge to love one another, to serve one another, to learn from one another, to support the ministries of the church, and to give and receive loving correction if needed. Church members have a voice and vote in the selection of Elders, Deacons, Ministry Leaders, church finances, and more. The church hold Member’s Meetings 1-3 times per year as needed.
